* Performs the role of a Business Systems Analyst. Ensures that all the scheduled nightly batch jobs are running in their respective timeframes and with adherence to their Service Level Agreements through proper analysis and decision-making of the business rules of each scheduled batch jobs.
* Monitors application in production environment.
* Provides Level 2 resolution of all the production issues through analysis and investigation of the nightly scheduled US batch jobs running in IBM Tivoli.
* Checks and analyzes the Oracle production database through SQL queries in order to verify and to determine the processing of the scheduled batch jobs’ workflows.
* Escalates and coordinates Level 3 issue resolution.
* Coordinates troubleshooting and resolution with infrastructure support and business users.

Requirements:

Systems Administrator (Linux/Unix and Windows)

* Troubleshoot UNIX / Linux problems dealing with performance, system hardware problems, network problems and application issues escalated by L1 team. Must be able to solve shell / Perl scripting issues and other problems.
* Work under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, or Senior UNIX administrator to help with implementation of technical designs
* Makes recommendations on performance, reliability, security and scalability by improving internal processes and making recommendations on new hardware, and software
* Work with Operations Supervisor / System Administrator to generate reports and show the capabilities and capacities of the UNIX systems / Linux systems
* Train Level 1 Engineers
* Work to maintain a 99.9 uptime on all UNIX / Linux servers at optimal performance using internal / external diagnostic monitoring tools
* Independent problem solver and capable of working on their own with little supervision
* Works with Operations Supervisor and Sr. UNIX Administrator to develop policy and procedures
* Work on special projects assigned by the Operations Supervisor
* Collaborates with Windows Systems adminstrators as needed

REQUIREMENTS

* At least 3 years experience in deploying, supporting, and maintaining enterprise level servers running on UNIX/Linux environments
* Excellent hands-on experience with open-source UNIX environment; e.g. FreeBSD and/orCentOS preferred
* Preferably has experience in unix/linux scripting using Python or C-unix programming language
* Knowledge in Nagios and/or Zenoss-based server/network management & monitoring tool
* Hands on experience in installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software related issue
* Must have at least functional Windows Administration skills as well; a big plus
* Familiar with an administrative language, e.g. Perl or shell script programming
* Familiar with Unix/Linux SQL DB platforms, e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL
* Willing to work in a 24/7 environment, on-call
* Analytical and quality driven, self-supervision
* RHCE/Linux+ Certified is an advantage
