* Ensure that changes are made based on established procedures and change ITIL based management.
* Participate and provide full cooperation to the proper systems programming team for major system changes that includes VTAM and TCP/IP changes.
* Carry out troubleshooting and network debugging using industry best practices for any problem found in the operation of mainframe network.
* Participate in any problem determination activities that may not directly be due to VTAM or TCP/IP in the mainframe but is likely to involve or impact the network.
* Follow appropriate procedures invoking change management to make proper changes to resolve the problem. If the problem cannot be determined, or if it is determined but cannot be fixed then follow established procedures to open a ticket with the appropriate software vendor. Follow up with the vendor until the problem is resolved.
* Maintain complete documentation of the network and network attached nodes showing network relationships with other networks and the network backbone mainframe environment
* Install and apply all software upgrades, updates, patches and temporary fixes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Network Applications Database Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
