RESPONSIBILITIES:
* The Retail Non-Production server support team has accepted responsibility for all server, web, middleware and app support in the Retail non-production environment. Responsibility for Retail performance lab support and non-production VMWare support has also transitioned to the team. This position is required to bring the non-production server team in line with the production server team’s server to administrator ratio. With the addition of this full time employee, we will be able to support new and current projects as well as maintain the Wintel environment according to agreed upon service levels.
* Specific responsibilities include:
* Deliver physical and virtual server builds, web/middleware installs and application installs in Wintel environments that meet project requirements and deadlines
* Configure, maintain and support IIS infrastructure including performance tuning
* Configure, maintain and troubleshoot VMWare ESX infrastructure
* Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Cluster environments
* Install, configure and maintain Windows Server 2003 and 2008 Operating Systems
* Test, configure and evaluate all new server, web and middleware technologies
* Represent team on infrastructure projects and provide technical recommendations and best practices to project teams
* Effectively communication with customers with regards to downtime, project updates and troubleshooting progress
* Troubleshoot and provide technical analysis concerning operating system, network, and application performance issues to resolution
* Support patching, ticket queue maintenance, execution of change controls, anti-virus upgrades and security remediation
* Troubleshoot and repair server hardware components to resolution
* Maintain operating system and application software patch levels on all servers
* Create detailed technical documentation relating to operating system, application build, server build, performance, and stability recommendations
* Provide timely and effective communication on technical matters
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5 years of relevant work experience supporting Windows Server 2003 and 2008 OS.
* Experience with VMWare, IIS
* Experience with middleware technologies required
